SharePoint Conference and 10 Year Celebration at Disney in Anaheim

spc11 blog

One of my recent writing projects included a chapter which was published in the Wrox SharePoint Developer book centered on development as it relates to ECM. In addition I have presented on similar topics at SharePoint conferences around the world. I was certified as a Microsoft trainer in 1996. Since that time I have trained thousands of .NET and SharePoint developers on best practices and coding techniques. Now, as an independent I teach elite private SharePoint classes as well as a SharePoint developer course for Mindsharp.

In addition much of my working time is consumed helping large companies across many industries implement custom SharePoint solutions. Often times these projects are centered on managing and automating large repositories of business intelligence and enterprise content. I am fortunate that I am able to work with some of the best known consultants in the industry and the SharePoint product team to make these projects a success.

You should attend my session as document management and ECM is often one of the first feature sets companies implement while deploying SharePoint. During my session you can depend on solid, pragmatic advice on how to implement best practices when extending these features as a developer. Since I have a developer background I prefer the use of code demonstrations during my sessions. All of these code samples will be available for download.

I’ll be at all of the social events throughout the week so make sure you take time to say hi and introduce yourself.

Cheers,

Paul J. Swider

Session Title:
Developing and Extending Enterprise Content Management features

Abstract:
Do you know how to fully leverage the rich set of APIs SharePoint provides for building new features or extending existing Enterprise Content Management (ECM) features? The ECM programming model can be used to extend the functionality and create custom document management solutions. In addition SharePoint 2010 introduces the Managed Metadata store as the enterprise tool for managing taxonomy. In this session you will learn how to add rich ECM functionality to your SharePoint sites using members of the taxonomy and document management object model.

In addition join me at the Microsoft Pavilion for a SharePoint Express session titled Submit! Extending SharePoint with InfoPath. The session will be during the reception in the exhibit hall

  1. Having never been to Disney World or Land, this party may have played a deciding factor in my attending SPC. See you there!
